My wife had her surgery for ovarian cancer in Jan'17 at TMC. We have known Dr Joydeep Ghosh since then. We have found him to be highly receptive to our concerns and he has always been extremely helpful in clarifying situations and planning our lifestyles. I know Dr. Joydeep Ghosh since last 6 years. An excellent personality, confident mind and extremely skillful medical oncologist he is. Moreover the best part  of him is that anyone can trust upon his ability to manage the moribound patients and revert them back to their day to day normal activities.
He is equally good in curative and palliative care.
One has to respect his academics too.

Dr. Joydeep Ghosh is a competent medical oncologist and my close friend. We worked in Tata Medical Center together for a lengthy period. He is one of the best oncologist in Kolkata, dealing with complex cancers. As a GI and HPB surgeon I rate him one of the best in dealing with GI and Pancreatico-biliary cancers. My father was diagnosed with colorectal CA, last stage, had already undergone surgery when we first consulted Dr. Joydeep Ghosh. We actually lost hope that with the spread of micro disease he will not survive more than a year, atleast that's what the initial post-operative discussion with the onco-surgeon indicated. But with Dr. Ghosh's treatment plan, he has not just survived (in March, he will complete his 4th year post diagnosis) but also maintenance of a moderate quality of life has possible. Yes, with a disease as unpredictable as cancer, it may not be the case for everyone but what we liked was Dr. Ghosh never have us unrealistic hopes, he went on with a plan with conviction as the disease progressed and we got results. Also, he understands the limitations of the patient, the family well enough that we can discuss issues with him that may not directly concern him. Dr. Joydeep Ghosh is an exceptionally good doctor. My aunt was under his treatment and she had full faith in his treatment. Currently she has a much better health condition compared to the situation before visiting Dr. Joydeep Ghosh.
He showed genuine care for the patient and was always available for suggestions. He understands the patient and shows true empathy.
